Greg Somers is the owner of Somers Auctioneering, a full-service auction company, which is based out of Coopersburg, PA and has spent almost all of his life in the auction business. 

Getting into the auction business was a natural progression for Greg. His love of auctions and antiques began when he was about 5 or 6 years old. He would go along to auctions, where he would look for milk bottles from his great-grandfather’s dairy or for old auction posters, since that same great-grandfather was also an auctioneer. What began as a scavenger hunt to a young child turned into something much bigger…the consideration to make auctions a daily part of his life.

Greg began to seriously follow that career path after he graduated from Southern Lehigh High School. He accepted a job with a large, local auction company, where he learned all that was required to run a successful auction. With the encouragement of the company, he attended Mendenhall School of Auctioneering, in High Point, South Carolina. When he returned to his employer, they agreed to take him on as an apprentice auctioneer. Following his apprenticeship, he remained there for 13 years. A little over 18 years ago Greg decided to start his own family Auction Company. From the very beginning, they wanted Somers Auctioneering to be an honest and professional business so that people would feel they could be trusted to do their best for their customers. Somers Auctioneering is a full-service auction company specializing in personal property and real estate auctions and can help a family down-size their belongings or totally liquidate an entire estate.
